Our client is actively seeking a dedicated Senior Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst to join their fully remote team, contributing to the protection of their digital infrastructure from their base in Belfast . This role is essential for real-time threat detection, analysis, and response. You will play a crucial part in monitoring security alerts, investigating potential security incidents, and implementing immediate countermeasures to safeguard company data and systems. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts from various sources, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR, and other security tools.
- Investigate potential security incidents, determine their scope and impact, and provide detailed incident reports.
- Perform threat hunting activities to proactively identify advanced persistent threats and malicious activities.
- Develop and refine incident response playbooks and procedures for effective and timely mitigation.
- Provide Tier 2/3 support for security incidents, escalating complex issues to relevant teams.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest threat intelligence, vulnerabilities, and attack vectors relevant to the industry.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC) or similar incident response role.
- Proficiency with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, Sentinel) and EDR solutions.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems, and common attack vectors.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation is a plus.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setting.
