About the Role

Our client is looking for a seasoned and highly competent Senior Site Civil Engineer to take a leading role in managing construction projects within the Reading area. This role requires a strong focus on the practical application of civil engineering principles on-site, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for site supervision, quality control, coordination of works, and ensuring compliance with all design specifications and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage all on-site civil engineering works, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and safety protocols.
• Conduct regular site inspections, quality checks, and progress monitoring to ensure work meets required standards.
• Coordinate the activities of subcontractors, suppliers, and direct labor, ensuring efficient workflow and resource management.
• Interpret engineering drawings and specifications, providing clear guidance to site teams and resolving on-site issues.
• Maintain accurate site records, including daily reports, material usage, and safety logs.
• Implement and enforce health and safety policies and procedures on site to ensure a safe working environment.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline, with substantial site experience.
• Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in site engineering and construction management.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, materials science, and site-specific challenges.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings and specifications.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to manage teams effectively.
