About the Role

Our client, a dynamic main contractor within the construction industry , is seeking an experienced Senior Site Engineer to oversee critical works on projects in and around Sheffield . This role is vital for ensuring the accurate setting out, measurement, and quality control of construction activities on site. You will work closely with the site management team, subcontractors, and the design team to deliver projects safely and efficiently. This is a superb opportunity for a technically proficient engineer to take on greater responsibility, manage complex engineering tasks, and contribute to significant infrastructure and building projects.

Key Responsibilities

Take responsibility for setting out, surveying, and ensuring precision on construction sites.
Implement and manage quality control procedures for all engineering works.
Interpret engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications, translating them for site teams.
Liaise with subcontractors to ensure work is carried out according to plan and specifications.
Assist in the management of site resources, including materials and equipment.
Ensure all site engineering activities comply with health and safety regulations.

Requirements

Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
Significant experience as a Site Engineer , with demonstrable experience in a senior capacity.
Proficiency in using surveying equipment (e.g., Total Station, GPS) and relevant software.
Strong understanding of construction processes, methodologies, and health and safety protocols.
Excellent technical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.
