About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Senior Site Engineer to join their construction team in Portsmouth . This critical role ensures the successful execution of civil engineering projects on-site, maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. You will be responsible for overseeing all engineering and technical aspects of construction activities, from setting out and surveying to quality control and problem-solving. This is a hands-on position offering the chance to contribute directly to tangible infrastructure projects and develop your career within a leading construction company, working on challenging and diverse sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise all site engineering activities, ensuring compliance with designs and specifications.
- Perform accurate setting out and surveying of the works, utilizing modern survey equipment and GPS technology .
- Implement and monitor quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) procedures on site.
- Ensure all site activities adhere to strict health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Review method statements and risk assessments for construction operations.
- Liaise with project managers, clients, subcontractors, and statutory authorities to resolve site issues.
Requirements
- Degree or HND/HNC in Civil Engineering or a related construction discipline.
- Proven experience as a Site Engineer, with a strong understanding of construction processes.
- Proficiency in using surveying equipment (theodolites, total stations, levels) and AutoCAD for site plans.
- Thorough knowledge of construction methodologies, materials, and quality standards.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Valid CSCS card and full UK driving license.
