The Isle of Wight Council is seeking a Senior Social Worker in the Children & Families team to provide high-quality support and intervention to vulnerable children and their families. As a Senior Social Worker, you will be responsible for a diverse range of duties, including but not limited to:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments and developing tailored support plans for children and families.
- Managing a caseload of complex cases, ensuring timely and effective interventions.
- Providing supervision and mentoring to junior social workers and students.
- Collaborating with multi-agency partners to ensure holistic support for families.
- Participating in court proceedings and presenting evidence as required.
The ideal candidate will possess essential qualifications and skills, including:
- A relevant social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
- Registered with Social Work England.
- A minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience in children and families social work.
- Strong knowledge of child protection legislation and safeguarding practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
