About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer specializing in backend development to join their dedicated team in Liverpool . This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining robust, scalable, and high-performance backend systems that power innovative applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including frontend engineers, product managers, and QA specialists, to deliver exceptional user experiences. The ideal candidate is passionate about writing clean, efficient code, solving complex technical challenges, and contributing to a collaborative engineering culture within a growing organization.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable backend code using modern programming languages and frameworks.
Develop and integrate with APIs for seamless data exchange between frontend and backend systems.
Optimize applications for maximum speed, scalability, and security.
Write comprehensive unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
Collaborate with product managers to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Participate actively in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and junior engineers.

Requirements

5+ years of professional experience in backend software development .
Proficiency in at least one modern backend language such as Python, Java, Node.js, or C#.
Strong understanding of database technologies (SQL and NoSQL), including design and optimization.
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.
Excellent problem-solving skills and a commitment to writing high-quality code.
