Senior Sound Designer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly creative and technically proficient Senior Sound Designer to join their innovative team, working remotely. You will be responsible for crafting immersive and compelling audio experiences for a variety of media, including games, film, and interactive installations. This role requires a deep understanding of audio principles, signal processing, and a keen artistic sensibility to create unique soundscapes that enhance the user experience. Work from anywhere in the UK and collaborate with a talented, globally distributed team to push the boundaries of audio design.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, record, edit, and mix high-quality sound effects, ambient environments, and musical elements.
• Develop innovative audio concepts and implement them to create immersive and emotionally resonant soundscapes.
• Collaborate with directors, game designers, composers, and other team members to achieve the desired audio vision.
• Implement sound assets into game engines (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity) or other relevant platforms using audio middleware (e.g., Wwise, FMOD).
• Optimize audio performance for real-time applications, ensuring efficient use of resources without compromising quality.
• Stay abreast of emerging audio technologies, software, and techniques in the industry.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in sound design, with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse audio projects.
• Proficiency in Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro, or Cubase.
• Expertise in sound editing, mixing, Foley, ADR, and sound synthesis.
• Experience with game audio middleware (Wwise, FMOD) and game engine audio systems.
• Strong understanding of acoustics, psychoacoustics, and signal processing.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for remote teamwork.
