Senior Sourcing Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a strategic and experienced Senior Sourcing Specialist to join their procurement department in Plymouth . This role will focus on identifying, evaluating, and engaging with suppliers to secure the best possible terms for goods and services critical to the company's operations. You will lead sourcing initiatives, conduct detailed market analysis, and develop strong supplier relationships to drive value and mitigate risk. Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end sourcing projects for key categories, from strategy development to contract execution.
• Conduct comprehensive market intelligence and supplier analysis to identify sourcing opportunities.
• Negotiate complex contracts and pricing agreements with suppliers to achieve optimal cost and value.
• Manage and develop relationships with strategic suppliers, ensuring performance meets contractual obligations.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and align sourcing strategies accordingly.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, company policies, and ethical standards in all sourcing activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field; CIPS qualification is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing and procurement.
• Proven track record of successfully leading complex sourcing projects and delivering significant cost savings.
• Exceptional negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong understanding of contract law and risk management principles in procurement.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels within the Plymouth organisation.
