Senior Stage Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly organized and experienced Senior Stage Manager to join their dynamic production team in Sunderland . This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth and efficient execution of all theatrical performances. You will be the central point of communication for the cast and crew, responsible for coordinating rehearsals, managing the stage during performances, and maintaining the artistic integrity of the production. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver with excellent leadership skills and a deep understanding of the demands of live theatre, contributing to a positive and productive backstage environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of rehearsals, including scheduling, calling cues, and maintaining prompt books.
• Oversee stage operations during performances, ensuring seamless transitions and technical execution.
• Serve as the primary liaison between the director, cast, crew, and creative team.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and manage backstage personnel.
• Maintain clear and accurate communication channels throughout the production lifecycle.
• Organize and manage production paperwork, including budgets and contact lists.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years' experience as a professional Stage Manager, preferably in a theatre setting.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex schedules and multiple priorities effectively.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in creating and managing prompt books and production paperwork.
• Experience with calling cues for lighting, sound, and set changes.
• Ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
