About the Role
Our client, a key developer in the offshore wind sector, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join their expanding team in Plymouth . This crucial role will focus on the structural design and integrity of offshore wind turbines and associated infrastructure, ensuring their safety and longevity in harsh marine environments. You will be responsible for leading design processes, performing advanced analysis, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver world-class renewable energy projects. Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design of offshore wind turbine foundations (e.g., jackets, monopiles, floating structures).
- Develop and review structural designs, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards (e.g., Eurocodes, DNV).
- Conduct detailed calculations for static and dynamic loads, fatigue analysis, and ultimate limit states.
- Oversee the structural aspects of fabrication, installation, and commissioning phases.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, including geotechnical, electrical, and mechanical engineers.
- Manage structural engineering scopes of work and provide technical guidance to project teams.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in structural engineering, with a strong background in offshore structures or renewable energy projects.
- Proficiency with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software (e.g., ANSYS, ABAQUS, Sesam).
- In-depth knowledge of material behavior, load calculations, and structural integrity principles.
- Experience with offshore wind standards and guidelines is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
