Senior Structural Engineer - Renewable Energy Projects

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer with experience in renewable energy projects to join their team on a remote basis. This role will involve providing structural design and technical leadership for a variety of renewable energy infrastructure, including wind farms, solar installations, and energy storage facilities. You will be responsible for ensuring the structural integrity and safety of these critical assets, working closely with project managers and engineering teams across different locations. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design and analysis of foundations, support structures, and associated civil works for renewable energy installations.
• Conduct feasibility studies and technical reviews for new renewable energy projects.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards, codes of practice, and project-specific requirements.
• Collaborate with project teams, including mechanical, electrical, and geotechnical engineers, to achieve integrated solutions.
• Prepare detailed structural calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Provide technical support during the construction and commissioning phases of projects.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering, with a Master's degree preferred.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with a recognized professional institution.
• Significant experience (typically 8+ years) in structural engineering, with demonstrable experience in the renewable energy sector.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., ANSYS, STAAD.Pro, ETABS) and relevant design codes.
• Strong understanding of the structural challenges and requirements associated with wind turbines, solar arrays, and battery storage systems.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work independently.
