Senior Structural Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join their reputable firm based in Edinburgh . This role involves leading the structural design of diverse construction projects, from initial concept through to detailed design and site support. You will play a key role in ensuring the integrity and safety of buildings and infrastructure, collaborating closely with architects, clients, and construction teams. This is an exciting opportunity for a technically proficient engineer to take on challenging projects and contribute to the built environment in Scotland.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design and analysis for a variety of building and infrastructure projects.
• Produce detailed structural drawings, specifications, and calculations using relevant software.
• Liaise with clients, architects, contractors, and other consultants to ensure coordinated design solutions.
• Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and resolve any structural issues.
• Mentor and guide junior engineering staff, fostering their professional development.
• Ensure designs comply with current building regulations, standards, and best practices.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
• Significant professional experience as a Structural Engineer , ideally in a senior capacity.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with a relevant professional institution (e.g., ICE, IStructE).
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, Robot Structural Analysis, Tekla).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a strong understanding of materials and construction methods.
