Senior Structural Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join their vibrant engineering practice based in Cardiff . This role offers the chance to take ownership of significant structural design projects across various sectors, including commercial, residential, and public developments. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design process for a diverse range of building projects from concept to completion.
• Undertake detailed structural analysis and design using industry-standard software and techniques.
• Prepare comprehensive design calculations, specifications, drawings, and reports.
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively, ensuring timely and successful project delivery.
• Liaise with clients, design teams, contractors, and statutory authorities to resolve design and construction issues.
• Mentor and supervise junior engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering their professional development.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or equivalent qualification.
• Professional accreditation, such as Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with the IStructE or ICE.
• A minimum of 6 years' post-graduate experience in structural engineering design.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., Tekla Structural Designer, Robot Structural Analysis) and CAD.
• Thorough knowledge of UK building codes, standards, and relevant legislation.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
