About the Role

Our client, a renowned engineering consultancy based in Leeds , is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join their expanding team. You will play a pivotal role in the design and management of structural aspects for a variety of high-profile construction projects, including commercial, residential, and industrial developments. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to significant projects, work with a multidisciplinary team, and shape the built environment, all within a hybrid working model that balances collaborative office work with remote flexibility, fostering innovation and professional growth.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the structural design process for complex building projects from concept to completion.
Perform detailed structural analysis and design calculations for steel, concrete, and timber structures.
Ensure designs comply with all relevant British Standards, Eurocodes, and building regulations.
Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other consultants to achieve optimal project outcomes.
Review technical drawings and specifications prepared by other engineers and technicians.
Conduct site visits for inspections and to resolve design-related queries during construction.

Requirements

MSc or MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering.
A minimum of 6 years' post-graduate experience in structural engineering design.
Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with a relevant professional institution (e.g., IStructE, ICE) or nearing chartership.
Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, Tekla Structural Designer, Robot Structural Analysis).
Strong understanding of construction materials and methods.
Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
