Senior Subsea Engineer - Offshore Energy

About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Subsea Engineer to join their fully remote engineering team, contributing to critical projects in the Offshore Energy sector. This role focuses on the design, installation, and maintenance of subsea systems essential for oil, gas, and emerging renewable energy infrastructure. You will leverage your extensive expertise in subsea hardware, fluid dynamics, and structural analysis to deliver safe, efficient, and reliable solutions. The position requires a self-motivated individual with a strong technical background and the ability to manage complex projects from conception through to execution in a remote-first setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and specify subsea equipment, including risers, pipelines, manifolds, and Christmas trees, for offshore projects.
• Perform detailed engineering calculations for structural integrity, fluid flow, and thermal analysis of subsea systems.
• Develop installation procedures and methodologies, ensuring safety and efficiency.
• Oversee the fabrication, testing, and commissioning of subsea hardware.
• Liaise with clients, suppliers, classification societies, and installation contractors.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies for subsea operations.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams and project stakeholders.
• Contribute to the development and application of new technologies in the subsea energy field.

Requirements

• BEng or MEng in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in subsea engineering, with a strong focus on offshore oil & gas or offshore renewable energy projects.
• Proficiency in relevant design and analysis software (e.g., ANSYS, OrcaFlex, Caesar II).
• Thorough understanding of relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., DNV, API).
• Experience with subsea field development, installation, and intervention operations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration in a remote environment.
