Senior Subsea Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Subsea Engineer to join their offshore operations team based in Plymouth . This role is critical for the design, installation, and operation of subsea infrastructure for offshore energy projects. You will be responsible for managing subsea systems, including pipelines, structures, and equipment, ensuring their integrity, safety, and performance. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in subsea engineering principles, project management skills, and a proven track record of successful offshore execution. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to significant projects in the Devon region and lead complex subsea developments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, and specify subsea equipment, including trees, manifolds, umbilicals, and templates.
• Develop and manage subsea installation procedures and campaigns, ensuring safety and efficiency.
• Oversee the integrity management of existing subsea assets, including inspection and maintenance planning.
• Conduct FEA analysis for subsea structures and components under various loading conditions.
• Liaise with suppliers, fabrication yards, and offshore installation contractors to ensure project requirements are met.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior subsea engineers.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 9 years of experience in subsea engineering within the offshore energy sector.
• Strong knowledge of subsea hardware, system integration, and installation techniques.
• Proven experience in pipeline engineering and flow assurance.
• Familiarity with relevant industry standards (e.g., API, DNV).
• Excellent project management, leadership, and communication skills.
