Senior Subsea Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Subsea Engineer to join their globally distributed engineering team. This role, managed remotely, will focus on the conceptualization, design, and lifecycle management of subsea production systems. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity, reliability, and performance of complex subsea infrastructure, collaborating virtually with project managers, fabrication teams, and installation contractors worldwide. This is a significant opportunity for an experienced engineer to contribute to challenging offshore projects from a remote location, leveraging cutting-edge technology and fostering a culture of innovation and virtual collaboration, while maintaining a link to their operational base near Derby .

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the conceptual design, detailed engineering, and specification of subsea equipment, including trees, manifolds, pipelines, and control systems.
• Oversee the fabrication, testing, and installation planning phases of subsea projects from a remote standpoint, ensuring compliance with design and quality standards.
• Conduct FEA analysis and integrity assessments for subsea components and structures.
• Develop and implement subsea integrity management plans and maintenance strategies for remote oversight.
• Manage and interface with subsea contractors and suppliers virtually, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project specifications.
• Provide remote technical support for ongoing subsea operations and troubleshooting of system issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field.
• Minimum of 9 years of relevant experience in subsea engineering , with a strong focus on offshore oil and gas.
• Proven expertise in subsea system design, installation engineering, and commissioning support.
• Proficiency with relevant subsea engineering software and simulation tools (e.g., OrcaFlex, ANSYS).
• Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for subsea operations (e.g., API, ISO).
• Strong project management and communication skills, with the ability to lead technical teams virtually.
