Senior Substation Engineer - Energy Infrastructure

About the Role

You will be responsible for leading substation projects, from conceptual design through to commissioning, ensuring adherence to the highest technical and safety standards. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and specification of high-voltage substation equipment, including transformers, switchgear, busbars, and protection relays.
• Develop detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and construction documents for substation projects.
• Conduct site assessments and develop feasibility studies for new substation developments or upgrades.
• Oversee project execution, including procurement, construction supervision, and commissioning activities.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, safety regulations, and grid codes.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams, clients, and contractors.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in substation engineering , specifically within the energy infrastructure sector.
• Proven experience with the design and specification of high-voltage equipment (up to 400kV).
• Strong knowledge of substation protection schemes, control systems, and earthing design.
• Familiarity with project management principles and contract administration.
• Proficiency in relevant design and analysis software.
