Senior Substation Engineer

You will provide expert technical leadership, manage project phases, and contribute to the development of advanced substation technologies. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and specification of high-voltage substation components, including transformers, switchgear, and busbars.
• Develop detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
• Oversee substation projects from conceptual design through to commissioning and handover.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project teams.
• Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor progress and resolve technical issues during construction.

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in substation engineering or a related field within the power industry.
• Strong knowledge of high-voltage equipment, power system protection, and earthing systems.
• Experience with CAD software and substation design tools.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Familiarity with project management principles and construction methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail in Edinburgh .
