Senior Subsurface Analyst

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly analytical Senior Subsurface Analyst to join their technical team in Reading . This role is central to the company's exploration and development efforts within the Oil & Gas sector. You will be responsible for integrating and interpreting diverse subsurface data, including geological, geophysical, and engineering information, to identify and evaluate hydrocarbon resources. The successful candidate will contribute to critical decision-making processes through robust data analysis and insightful subsurface interpretation, working collaboratively with exploration and production teams to maximize asset value.

Key Responsibilities

• Integrate and analyze geological, geophysical, and reservoir data to build a comprehensive subsurface understanding.
• Perform seismic data interpretation , well log analysis, and reservoir characterization .
• Develop and refine subsurface models to support exploration, appraisal, and development planning.
• Conduct volumetric calculations and uncertainty assessments for hydrocarbon reserves.
• Collaborate with geoscientists and engineers to define drilling targets and optimize field development strategies.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for internal stakeholders and management.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Geoscience, Geophysics, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in subsurface analysis and interpretation within the Oil & Gas industry .
• Proficiency with subsurface interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom, GeoGraphix).
• Strong understanding of geological principles, seismic methods, and reservoir modeling techniques.
• Experience in data integration and uncertainty analysis for resource estimation.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
