Senior Subsurface Geologist

About the Role

Our client, a forward-thinking entity in the Oil & Gas exploration domain, is seeking an accomplished Senior Subsurface Geologist to join their technical team in Southampton . This role is integral to identifying and evaluating potential hydrocarbon prospects through detailed geological analysis. You will leverage cutting-edge technologies and extensive datasets to interpret geological structures, stratigraphy, and depositional environments, directly influencing exploration strategies and investment decisions. Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed geological interpretations of seismic, well log, and core data to identify and map hydrocarbon reservoirs.
• Integrate geological and geophysical data to build robust 3D subsurface models.
• Assess exploration risks and opportunities, providing quantitative estimates of potential reserves.
• Collaborate closely with reservoir engineers and geophysicists to develop integrated subsurface characterization.
• Contribute to the planning and execution of geological fieldwork, seismic surveys, and well site activities.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and recommendations for management and joint venture partners.

Requirements

• Master's degree or PhD in Geology, Geophysics, or a related Earth Science discipline.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in exploration geology, with a strong focus on the Oil & Gas industry .
• Proficiency in geological interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom Suite, SKUA-GOCAD).
• Expertise in seismic interpretation, well correlation, sequence stratigraphy, and basin analysis.
• Demonstrated experience in prospect generation and risk assessment.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and presentation skills.
