About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Subsurface Geoscientist to join their remote exploration team, contributing to the identification and evaluation of new hydrocarbon prospects within the Oil & Gas industry. This role involves the integrated analysis of geological, geophysical, and engineering data to delineate potential reservoirs and guide exploration strategies from a distance. Working within a globally distributed team, you will leverage advanced data analytics and interpretation tools to assess subsurface potential and support strategic decision-making. This fully remote position offers an exceptional opportunity for a dynamic geoscientist to make a significant impact on the company's resource base and exploration success without the constraints of a traditional office environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Integrate and interpret geological, geophysical (seismic), and engineering data to evaluate subsurface potential.
- Develop and refine subsurface models, including structural and stratigraphic interpretations.
- Perform prospectivity analysis, risk assessment, and uncertainty quantification for exploration targets.
- Collaborate virtually with multidisciplinary teams, including geologists, geophysicists, and reservoir engineers.
- Contribute to the development and execution of exploration strategies and regional studies.
- Utilize advanced data science techniques and software tools for subsurface analysis.
Requirements
- Master's degree or PhD in Geosciences, Petroleum Geoscience, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in subsurface evaluation within the Oil & Gas sector.
- Proven expertise in seismic interpretation, well log analysis, and geological modeling.
- Strong understanding of basin analysis, petroleum systems, and exploration risk assessment.
- Experience with data analysis tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, R) is advantageous.
