Senior Subsurface Geoscientist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented Senior Subsurface Geoscientist to join their exploration and development team in Leeds, West Yorkshire, UK . This role is crucial for identifying and evaluating new hydrocarbon prospects and managing existing assets within the Oil & Gas sector . You will utilize cutting-edge geophysical and geological interpretation techniques to build subsurface models, assess reservoir potential, and contribute to strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of seismic data processing and interpretation, sedimentology, and structural geology, fostering a collaborative approach to subsurface challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive seismic data interpretation and attribute analysis to identify and delineate potential hydrocarbon reservoirs.
• Integrate geological, geophysical, and engineering data to build and refine 3D subsurface models.
• Conduct basin analysis and play fairway mapping to support exploration strategy.
• Evaluate prospective resources and associated geological risk for new venture opportunities.
• Collaborate with Reservoir Engineers and Drilling Engineers to provide subsurface input for well planning and field development.
• Stay abreast of new technologies and methodologies in geoscience and exploration.

Requirements

• A minimum of 6 years of experience in subsurface geoscience roles, with a strong focus on exploration or development in the Oil & Gas industry .
• Proficiency in industry-standard seismic interpretation software (e.g., Petrel, Kingdom Suite).
• Solid understanding of geological concepts, including sedimentology, stratigraphy, and structural geology.
• Master's or PhD degree in Geology, Geophysics, or a related earth science discipline.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience with geochemical analysis and well log interpretation is highly desirable.
