About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Systems Administrator to join their dedicated, fully remote IT infrastructure team. This role is crucial for managing, maintaining, and optimizing the organization's server environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and security. You will be responsible for deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting server systems, implementing upgrades, and ensuring the integrity of data through robust backup and recovery strategies. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Windows and Linux environments, a proactive approach to system management, and a commitment to providing exceptional IT support.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux) and related software.
• Manage and monitor server performance, identify and resolve issues to ensure optimal uptime and efficiency.
• Implement and maintain robust backup and disaster recovery solutions, performing regular tests.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls across various systems.
• Deploy, configure, and maintain virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
• Provide technical support for server-related issues and collaborate with other IT teams on infrastructure projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in systems administration, with a strong focus on server management.
• Proficiency in managing both Windows Server and Linux environments.
• Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
• Knowledge of networking principles, Active Directory, and scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash).
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously in a remote setting.
