Senior Systems Administrator

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and experienced Senior Systems Administrator to manage and maintain their IT infrastructure in Norwich . This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation, security, and reliability of their servers, networks, and related systems. You will be responsible for system implementation, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and disaster recovery planning. Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain server hardware and operating systems (Windows Server, Linux).
• Manage network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Monitor system performance, identify issues, and implement timely solutions to minimize downtime.
• Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
• Ensure the security of the IT infrastructure through regular patching, vulnerability assessments, and security best practices.
• Provide technical support to end-users and troubleshoot hardware and software issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience in systems administration and network management.
• Proficiency with Windows Server and Linux operating systems.
• Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and network hardware.
• Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices.
