Senior Systems Administrator

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Administrator to join their IT operations team in Bristol , operating on a hybrid basis. You will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of our server infrastructure, ensuring its optimal performance, security, and availability. This role requires a proactive approach to system management, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to manage both on-premises and cloud-based systems. Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux server environments.
• Manage virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure).
• Implement and administer Active Directory, Group Policy, and other directory services.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to ensure high availability.
• Manage backup and disaster recovery operations, ensuring data integrity and business continuity.
• Develop and maintain system documentation, procedures, and security protocols.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in systems administration.
• Strong experience with Windows Server and Linux operating systems.
• Proficiency in managing virtualized environments and cloud platforms.
• Expertise in Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and network services.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
