About the Role
Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Systems Administrator to manage and maintain their IT infrastructure in Wolverhampton . This role is critical for ensuring the stability, security, and optimal performance of our server environments, networks, and associated systems. You will be responsible for daily operations, troubleshooting complex issues, and implementing system upgrades and improvements. Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain server hardware, operating systems (Windows Server, Linux), and associated software.
- Manage network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Implement and maintain system security measures, including backups, patching, and access control.
- Monitor system performance and proactively identify and resolve issues to minimize downtime.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for end-users and IT-related problems.
- Plan and execute system upgrades, migrations, and hardware replacements.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Systems Administrator, with at least 5 years in a senior capacity.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server and Linux operating systems.
- Experience with network administration, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN technologies.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for automation tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail, crucial for IT operations in Wolverhampton .
