Senior Systems Electrical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proficient Senior Systems Electrical Engineer to join their innovative R&D department in Leeds . This role focuses on the design, integration, and validation of complex electrical systems for advanced technological products. You will play a key part in the entire product development lifecycle, from conceptual design through to production support, collaborating closely with hardware and software engineering teams. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical systems, sub-systems, and components for new product development.
• Perform system-level electrical analysis, including power integrity, signal integrity, and thermal management.
• Create detailed schematics, PCB layouts, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Integrate electrical components and systems, ensuring seamless interoperability with other product aspects.
• Conduct rigorous testing and validation of electrical designs to ensure performance, reliability, and safety.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues throughout the product development cycle.

Requirements

• BEng/MEng or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 6 years of experience in electrical system design, preferably within a product development environment.
• Strong knowledge of analog and digital circuit design, microcontrollers, and embedded systems.
• Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (e.g., Altium Designer, OrCAD).
• Experience with power management systems and power electronics is a plus.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
