About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Tax Accountant for a fully remote position, supporting their national operations based near Plymouth . This role is crucial for ensuring the company's compliance with all tax regulations, optimizing tax strategies, and providing expert advice on tax matters. You will be responsible for preparing and filing corporate tax returns, managing tax audits, and identifying opportunities for tax planning and savings. This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional who thrives in an autonomous, remote environment and possesses deep knowledge of UK tax law.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and file all company tax returns accurately and on time, including corporation tax, VAT, and PAYE.
- Provide expert advice on all aspects of UK tax law, including corporate tax, VAT, and international tax.
- Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities while ensuring compliance.
- Manage and respond to queries from HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) and other tax authorities.
- Conduct tax research and analysis to stay updated on changes in legislation and their impact on the business.
- Collaborate with the finance and legal teams on tax implications of business decisions and transactions.
Requirements
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with a specialization in Taxation.
- Significant experience as a Tax Accountant or in a similar tax advisory role.
- In-depth knowledge of UK corporate tax, VAT, and international tax principles.
- Proficiency in tax software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, effective for a remote working setup.
