About the Role
Our client is seeking a diligent and knowledgeable Senior Tax Accountant to manage their tax compliance and advisory functions from their offices in Leeds . This role is essential for ensuring the company adheres to all UK tax legislation, optimises its tax position, and provides strategic tax advice to the business. You will be responsible for a broad range of tax matters, working collaboratively with internal teams and external advisors to navigate complex tax landscapes and mitigate risks, contributing significantly to the company's financial strategy and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit all statutory tax returns, including Corporation Tax, VAT, and PAYE, ensuring timely compliance.
- Provide proactive tax planning and advisory services to support business objectives and minimise tax liabilities.
- Liaise with HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) and other tax authorities, responding to queries and managing investigations.
- Develop and implement tax policies and procedures to ensure best practice and compliance.
- Analyse the tax implications of business transactions, investments, and reorganisations.
- Keep abreast of changes in tax legislation and advise the business on potential impacts.
Requirements
- Qualified tax professional (CTA) or a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a specialisation in tax.
- Proven experience in corporate tax compliance and advisory work, ideally within a corporate environment.
- Strong understanding of UK tax law and its implications for businesses.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to communicate complex tax matters clearly to non-tax specialists.
