Senior Technical Artist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and versatile Senior Technical Artist to join their fully remote development team. You will bridge the gap between art and technology, developing tools, shaders, and pipelines to empower the art team and optimize assets for performance and visual quality. This role requires a strong understanding of both artistic principles and technical constraints within game development. You will collaborate closely with artists, engineers, and designers to solve complex visual challenges and ensure the efficient creation of stunning game worlds. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain art pipelines, tools, and workflows to improve efficiency and quality.
• Create and optimize shaders, materials, and lighting setups for real-time rendering.
• Assist artists with technical challenges related to asset integration, performance, and fidelity.
• Collaborate with engineers to implement and refine engine features relevant to art production.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues encountered by the art team.

Requirements

• Extensive experience as a Technical Artist in the games industry, with a strong portfolio of work.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, MEL, C#) and shader development.
• Deep understanding of game engines (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity) and their rendering pipelines.
• Experience with 3D modeling, texturing, and animation software.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to artists and engineers.
