Senior Telecom Field Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Telecom Field Engineer to support their operations in and around Leeds, West Yorkshire, UK . This role is crucial for ensuring the successful deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting of telecommunications equipment and infrastructure at customer sites and within our network facilities. You will be a key technical point of contact, providing expert support and working to resolve complex field issues. This position offers a blend of hands-on technical work and strategic planning, contributing to the reliability and performance of our client's services in the Leeds area, with flexibility for hybrid working arrangements.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and commission telecommunications hardware and software at various site locations.
• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and preventative repairs on network equipment.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose hardware and software faults, implementing effective repair solutions in a timely manner.
• Provide on-site technical support to customers and internal teams, resolving complex field issues.
• Manage spare parts inventory and ensure the availability of necessary components for field operations.
• Document all site activities, including installation details, maintenance logs, and repair reports for the West Yorkshire region.

Requirements

• Significant hands-on experience as a Field Engineer in the telecommunications industry.
• Strong knowledge of telecommunications technologies, including fiber optics, copper cabling, and wireless systems.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and test equipment for network troubleshooting.
• Experience with installation and maintenance of network devices such as routers, switches, and base stations.
• Relevant technical certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CCNA) are highly desirable.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and travel as required for site visits in and around Leeds .
