Our client is looking for a highly skilled Senior Telecoms Engineer specializing in Fibre Optics to contribute to their cutting-edge projects from Sunderland . This role involves the design, implementation, and optimization of advanced fibre optic networks, ensuring high-speed and reliable data transmission. Key Responsibilities

• Design and architect robust fibre optic network infrastructure, including backbone and access networks.
• Oversee the deployment and installation of fibre optic cables, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Conduct advanced testing and troubleshooting of fibre optic links, including OTDR and fusion splicing.
• Optimize network performance and capacity for fibre optic systems, identifying and resolving bottlenecks.
• Develop and implement best practices for fibre optic network maintenance and management.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians working with fibre optics.

Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in telecoms engineering with a strong focus on fibre optics .
• Extensive knowledge of fibre optic technologies, including PON, GPON, and DWDM.
• Proficiency in fibre optic testing equipment and interpretation of results.
• Experience with network design and planning tools relevant to fibre infrastructure.
• Ability to lead complex technical projects from inception to completion.
• Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CFOT, CFCE) are a significant advantage.
