Senior Telecoms Field Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Telecoms Field Engineer to join their dedicated, entirely remote team. While this role involves extensive travel to customer sites across various regions, the operational base and team collaboration occur within a remote framework. You will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of advanced telecommunications equipment and systems. This position demands a proactive approach to problem-solving, exceptional technical skills, and the ability to work autonomously while representing our client professionally in the field.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and commission complex telecoms equipment and systems at customer locations.
• Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and repairs on network infrastructure and customer premises equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot network and equipment issues, providing timely and effective resolutions.
• Conduct site surveys and assessments to plan for installations and identify potential challenges.
• Provide technical support and training to customers, ensuring their satisfaction with our services.
• Document all field activities, including installation details, test results, and maintenance logs accurately.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies while performing duties in the field.

Requirements

• HND or equivalent qualification in Telecommunications, Electronics, or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a Field Engineer in the telecommunications industry.
• Strong understanding of various telecoms technologies , including mobile networks, fiber optics, and broadband access.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and test equipment relevant to field service.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Willingness to travel extensively as required by the role, supported by a remote management structure.
