Senior Telecoms Field Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated and skilled Senior Telecoms Field Engineer to join their team based in Belfast . This hands-on role involves travelling to customer sites and various locations across Northern Ireland to install, maintain, and repair complex telecommunications equipment and systems. You will be the face of our client on the ground, providing expert technical support and ensuring the reliable operation of critical infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess excellent technical skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service in a field-based environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and commission telecommunications equipment at customer premises and remote sites.
• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and proactive repairs to ensure network stability and performance.
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical faults, both remotely and on-site, in a timely manner.
• Conduct site surveys and assessments to determine optimal equipment placement and installation requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior field engineers and customers.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company procedures while carrying out duties.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Telecoms Field Engineer or similar technical role within the telecommunications industry.
• Strong understanding of fibre optics, copper cabling, networking, and associated testing equipment.
• Experience with relevant installation and repair tools, including diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
• Excellent practical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively within the designated region.
