Senior Telecoms Field Technician

About the Role

Our client is actively seeking an experienced Senior Telecoms Field Technician to join their operational team in Coventry, West Midlands . This pivotal role involves on-site installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment and systems. You will be the frontline technical expert, ensuring that our client's network infrastructure operates at peak performance for their customer base in the Coventry area. This position demands a high degree of technical proficiency, customer service skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional on-site support, making you a vital link in our client's service delivery chain.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and test telecommunications hardware and software at customer premises and network sites.
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to voice, data, and video services in the West Midlands .
• Perform routine preventative maintenance on network equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
• Provide excellent customer service, explaining technical issues and solutions clearly and concisely.
• Train and mentor junior technicians, sharing expertise and best practices in telecoms field operations.
• Respond to emergency service calls and work flexible hours as required to meet operational needs.

Requirements

• Extensive practical experience as a Telecoms Technician or Field Service Engineer.
• Strong knowledge of fibre optics, copper cabling, DSL, VoIP, and related transmission technologies.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and test equipment for network troubleshooting.
• Excellent understanding of network infrastructure and hardware installation procedures in Coventry .
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and installation manuals.
• A valid UK driving license and a willingness to travel extensively within the designated service area are essential for this role in the UK .
