Senior Telecoms Field Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and skilled Senior Telecoms Field Technician to join their operational team in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear . This hands-on role involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment and infrastructure at customer sites and network locations. You will be a crucial part of ensuring seamless connectivity and service delivery for a wide range of clients. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to providing high-quality on-site support.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and commission telecommunications hardware and software at customer premises and network points.
• Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and troubleshooting of network equipment, including fibre optics and copper cabling.
• Respond to service calls and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize downtime for customers.
• Conduct site surveys and assessments to plan and execute installations effectively.
• Ensure all work is completed safely, adhering to company policies and industry standards.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, equipment used, and site conditions.

Requirements

• Proven experience (3+ years) as a Telecoms Field Technician or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of telecommunications systems, including fibre optics, copper cabling, and associated hardware.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and test equipment for network troubleshooting.
• Excellent practical skills in installation and termination of cabling.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a field-based environment.
• Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel within the Sunderland area.
