Senior Telecoms Field Technician

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Telecoms Field Technician to join their dedicated operational team based in Coventry . This role is essential for the deployment, maintenance, and repair of our client's telecommunications infrastructure across the West Midlands region. You will be at the forefront of ensuring service quality, working directly with customers and internal teams to resolve technical challenges. The ideal candidate will possess strong diagnostic skills and a commitment to delivering exceptional service, contributing to a team that prides itself on reliability and technical expertise within the demanding telecoms industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair a wide range of telecommunications equipment , including fibre optic cables, routers, and customer premises equipment.
• Perform diagnostic tests and troubleshooting to identify and resolve network faults and service issues efficiently.
• Provide on-site technical support and customer guidance, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Manage and maintain an inventory of equipment and parts, ensuring accurate record-keeping for all field operations.
• Conduct site surveys and assessments to plan and execute network installations and upgrades.
• Adhere strictly to health and safety protocols and company procedures during all site visits and operational activities.

Requirements

• Significant practical experience as a Telecoms Field Technician or in a similar hands-on technical role.
• Proficiency in working with various types of cabling (copper, fibre) and network installation techniques.
• Strong understanding of telecom network principles and common fault-finding methods.
• Ability to interpret technical diagrams and schematics accurately.
• Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team in various site conditions.
