Senior Telecoms Field Technician

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Telecoms Field Technician to join their operational team in Newcastle upon Tyne . This role is crucial for the hands-on installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment and infrastructure across various customer sites. You will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of service delivery, troubleshooting complex technical issues in the field, and acting as a technical point of contact for clients. This position requires a dedicated individual who is comfortable working independently and possesses strong practical skills in a demanding, customer-facing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain a wide range of telecommunications systems, including voice, data, and network equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance checks and diagnostic tests on customer premises to ensure optimal system performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical faults and service issues promptly and efficiently.
• Provide technical support and guidance to customers, ensuring a high level of satisfaction.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and company procedures during site visits.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, equipment status, and customer interactions.

Requirements

• Significant experience as a Telecoms Field Technician or similar role.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing faults in fibre optic, copper, and wireless networks.
• Strong understanding of telecoms network principles and hardware.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• A valid UK driving license and willingness to travel extensively within the designated region.
