About the Role

Our client seeks a dedicated and skilled Senior Telecoms Field Technician to join their operations team in Cardiff . In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications equipment and infrastructure across various customer sites. You will act as a primary technical point of contact for customers, ensuring high levels of service and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and test telecommunications equipment, including fibre optic cables, routers, and modems.
• Perform scheduled maintenance and reactive repairs on network infrastructure to minimize downtime.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues reported by customers, providing clear explanations and solutions.
• Conduct site surveys to assess installation requirements and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, including inventory and service reports.
• Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations while working on customer premises in Cardiff .

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Telecoms Technician or similar role, with a strong understanding of networking principles.
• Proficiency in fibre optic splicing, testing, and termination techniques.
• Experience with copper cabling, DSL, and Wi-Fi technologies.
• Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Strong customer service and communication abilities.
• A valid UK driving license is essential for travel to customer sites in and around Cardiff .
