About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Telecoms Infrastructure Engineer to lead critical projects within their network operations in Edinburgh . This role involves the design, implementation, and management of the company's core telecommunications infrastructure, ensuring its reliability, scalability, and security. You will be responsible for overseeing major upgrades, troubleshooting complex issues, and contributing to the strategic roadmap for our network evolution. Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement resilient and scalable telecommunications infrastructure solutions.
• Manage and maintain core network elements, including routers, switches, servers, and transmission systems.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex network outages and performance degradation issues.
• Develop and enforce network standards, policies, and procedures to ensure operational excellence.
• Plan and execute infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and new technology deployments.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on infrastructure best practices.

Requirements

• Extensive experience (7+ years) in telecommunications infrastructure engineering and management.
• In-depth knowledge of IP networking, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), MPLS, and transport technologies (DWDM, Ethernet).
• Proven experience with network design, implementation, and performance optimization.
• Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices.
• Experience with fault diagnosis and resolution in complex network environments.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CCIE, JNCIE) and a Bachelor's degree in a related field are highly desirable.
