Senior Telecoms Installation Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Telecoms Installation Engineer to join their team in Portsmouth . This role is essential for the successful deployment of telecommunications infrastructure, including network equipment, cabling, and associated systems. You will lead installation projects, ensure adherence to technical specifications and safety standards, and provide technical guidance to junior engineers. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and perform the installation and commissioning of telecommunications equipment and systems.
• Ensure all installations comply with design specifications, industry standards, and health & safety regulations.
• Conduct site surveys and prepare detailed installation plans and method statements.
• Provide technical guidance, training, and supervision to junior installation engineers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues encountered during the installation process.
• Perform final testing and handover of installed systems to the client, ensuring full functionality.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Installation Engineer in the telecoms industry, with a focus on network infrastructure.
• Strong technical knowledge of fibre optic, copper cabling, and wireless network installation.
• Experience with network equipment from major vendors (e.g., Cisco, Huawei).
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Rigger qualifications, Fibre Optic Splicing, CSCS card) are highly advantageous.
