Senior Telecoms Network Architect

About the Role

Our client is looking for a visionary Senior Telecoms Network Architect to lead the strategic design and evolution of their telecommunications network infrastructure in Cambridge . You will be responsible for defining the future state of our network, ensuring it is scalable, resilient, and capable of supporting cutting-edge services. This role requires a deep understanding of current and emerging network technologies and the ability to translate complex business needs into robust architectural blueprints. You will work closely with engineering, operations, and product teams to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge in the rapidly changing telecoms landscape across the UK .

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the overall architecture strategy for the company's telecommunications network.
• Design high-level network solutions for new services and infrastructure upgrades.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies, standards, and vendor solutions.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to network engineering and operations teams.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical designs.
• Ensure network designs comply with security policies, performance standards, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Master's degree or PhD in Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in network architecture and design, with a significant focus on telecommunications.
• Expert knowledge of IP networking, routing protocols, optical networking, and mobile network technologies (e.g., 5G).
• Experience with network virtualization, SDN, NFV, and cloud integration.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and conceptually.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, comfortable in a hybrid setting.
