About the Role

Our client is seeking a visionary Senior Telecoms Network Architect to lead the design and evolution of their national network infrastructure, working remotely from anywhere within the UK. This high-impact role requires extensive experience in designing, scaling, and optimising complex telecommunications networks to meet current and future business demands. You will be responsible for defining the technical strategy, evaluating new technologies, and ensuring the network architecture supports robust, secure, and high-performance communication services. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a deep technical understanding of modern networking principles and a proven ability to translate business requirements into robust architectural designs, driving innovation in a fully remote setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the long-term vision and strategic roadmap for the company's telecommunications network architecture.
• Design end-to-end network solutions, considering factors such as scalability, resilience, security, and cost-effectiveness.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and industry best practices, recommending adoption where appropriate to enhance network capabilities.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and product teams to ensure architectural designs align with business objectives and technical requirements.
• Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship on network design principles and implementation strategies to engineering teams.

Requirements

• Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field, or equivalent extensive experience.
• 10+ years of experience in telecommunications network design and architecture, with a focus on large-scale, complex deployments.
• Expertise in routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), switching, MPLS, SDN, NFV, and cloud networking concepts.
• Proven experience with network security principles and implementation.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic planning skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences in a remote-first environment .
