Senior Telecoms Network Architect

About the Role

Our client seeks a highly experienced Senior Telecoms Network Architect to drive the strategic direction of their network infrastructure in Glasgow . This leadership role involves defining the future state of the company's telecommunications network, ensuring it meets evolving business needs, technological advancements, and security requirements. You will work closely with senior management, product teams, and engineering leads to conceptualize, design, and oversee the implementation of complex, large-scale network solutions. This is a key position for an individual with a proven track record in high-level network design and strategy within the telecoms industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the long-term telecoms network strategy and roadmap.
• Design and architect robust, scalable, and secure network solutions for core, edge, and access layers.
• Lead the evaluation and selection of new network technologies and vendor solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure architectural alignment and successful project delivery.
• Create detailed architectural documentation, including blueprints, standards, and best practices.
• Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to network engineering teams.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive experience in telecom network design and architecture.
• Deep expertise in areas such as SDN, NFV, IP routing (BGP, MPLS), optical networking , and cloud integration.
• Proven experience architecting solutions for large-scale service providers or enterprise networks.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles in network design.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Relevant advanced certifications (e.g., CCIE, Architect-level vendor certifications) are highly preferred.
