Senior Telecoms Network Operations Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Telecoms Network Operations Specialist to join their team in Glasgow . This role is critical for ensuring the continuous, optimal performance and reliability of our client's extensive telecommunications network. You will be responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining network infrastructure, implementing upgrades, and responding to critical incidents. This hybrid position allows for hands-on involvement in the network operations center while providing flexibility for remote work, fostering a productive and balanced work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor network traffic, performance, and availability using advanced network management tools.
• Diagnose and resolve complex network issues, incidents, and outages in a timely manner.
• Implement network configuration changes, upgrades, and patches according to established procedures.
• Develop and maintain operational documentation, including runbooks and troubleshooting guides.
• Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for critical network services.
• Collaborate with engineering and support teams to identify root causes of recurring problems and implement permanent solutions.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of network operations processes and tools.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in network operations or a similar role within the telecoms industry.
• In-depth knowledge of routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF) and switching technologies.
• Proficiency with network monitoring and analysis tools (e.g., SNMP, NetFlow, Wireshark).
• Experience with scripting or automation for network tasks is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent experience.
