Senior Telecoms Network Planner

About the Role

Our client is seeking a forward-thinking Senior Telecoms Network Planner to join their strategic planning team in Reading . This role is instrumental in shaping the future development of the company's telecommunications infrastructure. You will be responsible for analysing network capacity, forecasting future demand, and developing long-term plans for network expansion and upgrades. This hybrid position involves close collaboration with engineering and operations teams, balancing in-office strategic sessions in Reading with focused remote work. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of network technologies, and the ability to translate business objectives into actionable network plans.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse current network performance and capacity utilization to identify trends and potential bottlenecks.
• Develop long-term strategic plans for network expansion, upgrades, and technology deployment.
• Forecast future network traffic demands based on market trends, customer growth, and service evolution.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to design network architectures that meet future capacity and performance requirements.
• Evaluate new technologies and their potential impact on network planning and investment strategies.
• Prepare detailed reports and presentations on network plans and recommendations for senior management.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in telecoms network planning or a closely related field, such as network design or capacity management.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in data analysis and modelling.
• In-depth knowledge of telecommunications network technologies, including fibre, wireless, and IP networking.
• Experience with network planning tools and software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
