About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Telecoms Network Security Engineer to join their team in Oxford . This critical role involves protecting the company's telecommunications network infrastructure from cyber threats and ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of all network data and services. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing robust security solutions, as well as responding to security incidents and conducting vulnerability assessments. Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain security measures for the telecoms network , including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and access control systems.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration tests to identify and remediate security weaknesses.
- Develop and enforce network security policies, standards, and procedures.
- Monitor network traffic for security breaches and respond effectively to security incidents.
- Collaborate with IT and engineering teams to integrate security into network design and operations.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on network security best practices and emerging threats.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in network security engineering, with a focus on telecommunications environments.
- In-depth knowledge of network security technologies and protocols (e.g., TLS, IPsec, SIEM).
- Proven experience with firewall management, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint security solutions.
- Strong understanding of security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and incident response skills.
