About the Role
Our client is looking for a highly skilled and vigilant Senior Telecoms Security Analyst to join their team in Cambridge . In this crucial role, you will be responsible for protecting the company's telecommunications infrastructure and sensitive data from cyber threats. You will analyse security risks, implement protective measures, and respond to security incidents. The hybrid nature of this position allows for a balance of focused, independent work and collaborative engagement with security and IT teams. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor network traffic and systems for security breaches and suspicious activity using security information and event management (SIEM) tools.
- Investigate security incidents, perform forensic analysis, and develop remediation plans.
- Implement and maintain security controls, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPNs.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and address security weaknesses.
- Develop and update security policies, procedures, and guidelines for the telecom network .
- Provide security awareness training to employees and stay current with emerging threats and security technologies.
- Collaborate with IT and network teams to ensure security best practices are integrated into all systems.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Security Analyst , with a focus on telecommunications networks.
- In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles, threats, and mitigation techniques.
- Experience with SIEM platforms, endpoint security solutions, and network security devices.
- Familiarity with telecom security standards and protocols.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to respond effectively to incidents.
- Relevant security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH) are highly desirable.
