Senior Theatre Technician

About the Role

A prestigious theatre in Leeds is looking for a skilled and versatile Senior Theatre Technician to join its technical team. This role involves the setup, operation, and maintenance of all technical aspects of stage productions, including lighting, sound, and stage machinery. You will play a key part in ensuring the smooth running of performances, working closely with visiting companies, designers, and the in-house production department. Key Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain stage lighting, sound, and scenic equipment during performances and rehearsals.
• Assist with the load-in, setup, and strike of technical equipment for visiting productions.
• Undertake repairs and preventative maintenance on all theatre technical systems.
• Work with designers to implement and realize technical elements of productions.
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the theatre.
• Provide technical support and guidance to visiting crews and the artistic team.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Theatre Technician or similar technical role in a venue.
• Proficiency in operating stage lighting and sound consoles, and basic fly system operation.
• Experience with basic electrical and mechanical repairs.
• Strong understanding of health and safety best practices in a theatre environment.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
